I want to wish you all a Happy Valentine’s Day! My advice: Don’t go too crazy on the candy and chocolate! It’ll probably just give you a stomach ache. đ
Last night I attended an online class organized by Alt Design Summit on their Alt Channel (only $15 per class!!). The class was Using an Editorial Calendar to Grow Your Blog and was taught by Chris Gardner.
(Aside: While I thought Chris was well spoken and had some great ideas, this class just wasn’t organized enough for me. I was a little caught off-guard by that, because all of the other classes I have attended have been really well thought out, planned and executed. I always like to leave a class with something I can download and reference later, and we were not provided with any materials to peruse. Even the slides used during his presentation were lacking, and I don’t feel like they tied in with his content or the direction of his presentation. That said, I think it was only his second time teaching the material to an audience, so maybe it will get better if it is offered again).
Towards the end of the class, the host of the class provided a link to the Alt blog regarding this topic. I found this post from Chris to be very helpful. It helps you get going in the right direction by offering advice on getting ideas on paper to encourage a blogger to create original (quality) content on a consistent basis. This is something that my blog lacks, so I’m wanting to make a change.
I’m going to sketch out my own editorial calendar and I need to start by coming up with 10-11 monthly themes so I can finish out the year 2013. I want to grow my readership, and I want to start getting more interaction with my peers, fans, clients, etc.. There is a lot we can learn from one another, and I look forward to it.
So, if you have any ideas for content that you would like to see from me, please leave me a comment or send me an email: julie {at} bloggerboutique {dot} com
I’d love to hear from you! You can count on hearing more from me in the near future!
party bus says
yob, from Hidden Hills, California I want to mention, I enjoyed this blog post. However, it is amazing how I ended up on your post. I searched for party bus parties on Google and ended up on your website. I must say I do like your site and will check back soon. But I need to find the limo I was originally looking for first. Have a fantastic day! Cheers.
