Throughout the six years that I’ve been designing, I’ve seen (and used!) a lot of different plugins (on my site and for client sites) that allow you to add a pin button to your images letting your readers pin the images/post to Pinterest. A lot of them are no longer in production, and many of them are limited in the features that they offer and the ease in customizing.
I’ve just come across Frizzly (https://wordpress.org/plugins/frizzly/) – a newly created plugin – and I absolutely adore it. To see it in action, hover over the image above.
Frizzly allows you to link/share to Pinterest, Twitter, and Facebook. For the sake of this post, I’m going to focus on the Pinterest aspect.
There are a lot of great features in Frizzly, but my favorite feature is being able to use a custom image for the pin graphic. This makes it easy to create a button theme that will match my clients site. I also love that there are many different options for location placement of the custom image.
You can choose to display the buttons on certain pages, posts and also using the shortcode feature, you can add them into a sidebar widget. What!?!
This is the second plugin I used from the developer that wrote Frizzly, and I was a HUGE fan of his first plugin, so I’m super excited about the possibilities with this plugin.
If you’d like me to install and customize Frizzly for use on your site, please get in touch with me. I charge $30 to install and configure plugins, and I’d be happy to assist you with this service and creating a custom image to match your site.
Also, find (and follow) me on Pinterest! Let me know and I’ll return the favor!
Until next time! xo’s
