I think I will always be a perpetual student. I love to learn!
I just finished a two-part class on Advanced WordPress Design and Coding, and I learned a lot of new, fun things that I can’t wait to apply to my custom designs for my clients.
I think it is important to constantly update your skills and increase in knowledge. I always look for classes from my peers, and I am a monthly subscriber to Lynda.com to stay current with design, coding, WP, etc….
It is money well spent, in my book. I figure, since I don’t pay for cable TV (I have never even owned a TV), I justify spending that money towards a perpetual education for my career.
It is always pleasant to know my time spent learning will be rewarded.
If I haven’t learned something new in the day, then the day just doesn’t feel complete.
I also love to share my knowledge with others, and that is why I offer the Blog Design Mentorship Program. I work with clients one on one and teach them how to run a business as a custom blog designer. I teach all that I know, the resources that I use, how to build a clientele, etc…Believe me when I say that I wish I could have paid someone to have hourly one-on-one classes while I was learning. It would have saved me so much time!
How do you feel about learning? Do you enjoy it?
